Tips for a cashier resume

  • Show cash handling accuracy. Balanced drawers, few or no shortages, and handling cash, card, checks and returns.
  • Name the POS systems you know. Square, NCR, Clover, Toast or the store’s own register, plus scanners and scales.
  • Use numbers. Customers or transactions per shift, items scanned per minute, and loyalty or credit card sign-ups.
  • Highlight customer service. Handling lines at rush hour, resolving complaints calmly and getting compliments from shoppers.
  • Say when you can work. Evenings, weekends and holidays make you easier to schedule, so mention your availability.
