Tips for a CNA resume

  • Put your certification at the top. List CNA (or STNA, CNA II) with your state registry, plus BLS/CPR.
  • Describe the care you give. ADLs, vital signs, intake and output, safe transfers, feeding and dementia care.
  • Say where you have worked. Long-term care, rehab, hospital, assisted living and home health each need slightly different skills.
  • Use numbers. How many residents or patients you care for per shift is the first thing a nurse manager looks for.
  • Planning to become an LPN or RN? Mention nursing school plans or prerequisites. Many employers offer tuition help.
