How to Cancel Your Resume.io Subscription
Stop the renewal, ask for a refund, and keep your resume.
Short answer: go to Resume.io's cancel page at resume.io/contact/cancel-subscription, enter the email on your account, and click "Cancel Subscription". Then open the email Resume.io sends you and confirm. You don't need to sign in.
Cancel at least a day before your 7-day trial ends. After the trial, Resume.io charges $29.95 every 4 weeks until you cancel.
How to cancel, step by step
- Download your resume first. While your plan is active, download your resume and cover letter as PDF, so you keep a finished copy. The free plan only downloads plain text.
- Open the cancel page: resume.io/contact/cancel-subscription. You can also cancel from your account settings in the app.
- Enter the email address on your Resume.io account and click "Cancel Subscription". If no account is found, try any other email you might have used.
- Confirm from your inbox. Resume.io emails you a confirmation link. The cancellation isn't finished until you follow it. Check your spam folder if it doesn't arrive.
- Keep the final confirmation. Save the email and a screenshot. If you're charged again, this is your proof.
- Check your next card or bank statement for any new Resume.io charge after the date you cancelled.
If it doesn't work
Use the contact form on Resume.io's site and ask in writing to cancel. Include the email address on your account and the date and amount of your last charge. Keep their reply.
If you don't recognize the account, search your email for receipts from the date of the charge. The name on your card statement tells you which company charged you.
How to ask for a refund
| Free plan download | TXT (plain text) |
|---|---|
| Trial | $2.95 for 7 days |
| After the trial | Renews automatically at $29.95 every 4 weeks until you cancel |
| Quarterly plan | $49.95 every 3 months |
| First year if the trial is never cancelled | $392.30 |
| Refunds | Resume.io advertises a 7-day money-back guarantee. |
If you were just charged and didn't mean to keep the subscription, ask straight away. A short, clear request works best:
Hello, I cancelled my subscription on [date]. Please refund the charge of [amount] on [date] to the card ending [last 4 digits]. My account email is [email]. Thank you.
If you don't get an answer, or the refund is refused and you think the charge is wrong, call the number on the back of your card. Your bank can explain your options for a disputed charge.

Frequently asked questions
Will I lose my resume if I cancel Resume.io?
Your resume stays in your account, but the free plan only downloads a plain-text (TXT) file. Download a PDF of everything you need before you cancel.
Do I need to sign in to cancel Resume.io?
No. The cancel page only asks for the email on your account, then sends a confirmation link to that address.
Can I cancel during the trial?
Yes. Cancelling during the 7-day trial stops the first $29.95 renewal. Cancel at least a day before the trial ends to be safe.
I cancelled but was charged again. What should I do?
Check that you followed the confirmation link in the email. Then contact Resume.io with your confirmation and ask for a refund. If that doesn't work, contact your bank or card issuer.
Is there a resume builder without a subscription?
Yes. Resume Star has no trial and no subscription: you can download your resume as a PDF for free, as often as you like. See Resume.io alternatives with no subscription.
