How to Cancel Your Zety Subscription

Stop the renewal, ask for a refund, and keep your resume.

Short answer: sign in to Zety and go to Account Settings → My Plan → Cancel subscription, then confirm. Wait for the confirmation email: until you have it, treat the subscription as still active.

Cancel at least a day before your 14-day trial ends. After the trial, Zety charges $25.95 every 4 weeks until you cancel.

How to cancel, step by step

Download your resume first. While your plan is active, download your resume and cover letter as PDF and Word, so you keep a finished copy whatever happens to your account.
Sign in at zety.com with the email you used to sign up. If you signed in with Google or Facebook, use that again.
Open Account Settings, then My Plan. Account Settings is in the menu under your name or account icon.
Click "Cancel subscription" and follow the prompts. You may be offered a discount to stay. If you still want to cancel, keep going until the page says the subscription is cancelled.
Keep the confirmation email. Take a screenshot of the final page too. If you're charged again, this is your proof.
Check your next card or bank statement. Make sure no new Zety charge appears after the date you cancelled.

If you can't find the cancel button

Contact Zety's customer support through the contact page on its site and ask in writing to cancel. Include the email address on your account and the date and amount of your last charge. Keep their reply.

If you don't recognize the account, search your email for receipts from the date of the charge. You may have signed up with a different email address, or on a different resume site that also uses a trial. The name on your card statement tells you which company charged you.

If you were just charged for a renewal you didn't mean to keep, ask straight away. A short, clear request works best:

Hello, I cancelled my subscription on [date]. Please refund the charge of [amount] on [date] to the card ending [last 4 digits]. My account email is [email]. Thank you.

If you don't get an answer, or the refund is refused and you think the charge is wrong, call the number on the back of your card. Your bank can explain your options for a disputed charge.

Will I lose my resume if I cancel Zety?

You keep your account, but you may not be able to download a PDF or Word file again without a paid plan. Download your resume in every format you need before you cancel.

Does deleting my Zety account cancel the subscription?

Don't rely on it. Cancel the subscription first and wait for the confirmation email. Then delete the account if you want to.

Can I cancel during the trial?

Yes. Cancelling during the 14-day trial stops the first $25.95 renewal. Cancel at least a day before the trial ends to be safe.

I cancelled but was charged again. What should I do?

Reply to Zety's support with your cancellation confirmation and ask for a refund of the charge. If that doesn't work, contact your bank or card issuer.
