Truck Driver Resume Example made with Resume Star

Carriers screen driver resumes for three things first: your CDL class and endorsements, your safety record, and the kind of hauling you have done. Put all three where a recruiter sees them in seconds.

Tips for a truck driver resume

  • List your CDL class and every endorsement. Hazmat, Tanker, Doubles/Triples and TWIC can each open up better-paying loads.
  • Lead with your safety record. Safe miles, years without a preventable accident and a clean MVR matter more than any other line.
  • Say what and where you haul. OTR, regional or local; dry van, reefer, flatbed or tanker; and the states or regions you cover.
  • Show compliance. Mention ELD and Hours of Service experience, pre-trip inspections and DOT roadside inspection results.
  • Use numbers. On-time delivery rate, miles per year and loads per week make your experience concrete.
